Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and very little else. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. If you write to us through a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you submit work through our Contribute process, we collect whatever you include in that submission. We do not require an account or login to read Prajna Insights, and we do not ask for information we have no operational reason to hold.

Cookies

The public site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. A single, strictly necessary session cookie is used to keep an editor signed in to our internal publishing dashboard; it is not set for ordinary readers browsing the site and carries no personal information beyond an authentication token.

Analytics

We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising scripts on Prajna Insights. If we introduce privacy-respecting, aggregate traffic analytics in future — to understand which essays are being read, not to track individual visitors — this page will be updated first, and we will favour tools that do not build cross-site profiles of our readers.

Newsletter

Subscribing to our newsletter stores your email address so that we can send it to you; we use it for no other purpose, we do not rent, sell, or trade it, and we do not append it to any third-party marketing list. Every newsletter we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests immediately.

Contact forms

Messages sent through our contact, corrections, or contribution forms are stored so that our editorial team can read, respond to, and where relevant act on them. We do not use the content of a reader’s message for any purpose beyond handling the correspondence it was sent for, and we do not share it outside Dashapramati Solutions except where a message itself requires involving a specific named recipient — for example, forwarding a copyright notice to the image credit line’s original photographer.

Third-party embeds

Where an article embeds outside material — a video, a map, or a social post — that platform may set its own cookies or collect its own analytics under its own privacy policy, independent of ours, once you interact with the embed. We choose embed providers conservatively and note in this policy, and update it, if that changes materially.

Data retention

We keep a newsletter subscription for as long as it remains active and delete it promptly on unsubscribe. We keep contact-form and contribution correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter it concerns and for our own editorial and legal record-keeping thereafter; we do not retain it indefinitely for no purpose. Your rights

You may ask us, at any time, what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to namaste@prajnainsights.com. We aim to respond within fifteen days. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter without writing to us at all, using the link in any newsletter email.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including restricting access to our publishing systems to authenticated editorial staff and transmitting data over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected readers without undue delay if we become aware of a breach materially affecting their personal information.

Indian regulatory framework

Dashapramati Solutions is based in India, and we design our data practices to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and, where applicable, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. As the Digital Personal Data Protection Act’s rules and compliance mechanisms come into force, we intend to update our practices and this policy to keep pace with them, rather than waiting for a reader complaint to prompt the review.
