Terms of Use
The plain terms under which we make Prajna Insights available to you. By reading or using this site, you accept them.
Effective 1 June 2024 · Reviewed annually
Acceptance of these terms
These terms govern your access to and use of Prajna Insights, published by Dashapramati Solutions. By browsing this site, subscribing to our newsletter, submitting a contribution, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, your remedy is to stop using the site; we do not ask for anything more formal than that for ordinary readership.
Intellectual property
The text, design, and original illustrations on this site are the property of Dashapramati Solutions or our named contributors, as set out fully in our Copyright Policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that ownership to you. You may quote briefly, with attribution, under the fair-use terms described there.
User responsibilities
You agree to use this site lawfully, to provide accurate information where a form asks for it — a newsletter subscription, a contact message, a contribution — and not to attempt to interfere with the site’s normal operation, including through automated scraping at a volume that degrades the service for other readers. If you submit work to us, you are responsible for ensuring you hold the rights necessary to do so.
Comments and correspondence
Prajna Insights does not currently host open, unmoderated comments beneath its articles. Correspondence sent to us through our contact channels is read by our editorial team and is subject to our Privacy Policy. If we introduce a public comments facility in future, its own conduct rules will be published alongside it and will be at least as considered as these terms.
Prohibited activities
You may not use Prajna Insights to:
- misrepresent our content as your own, or misattribute it to a source we did not credit;
- republish our work beyond the fair-use and permissions terms in our Copyright Policy;
- submit contributions containing hate speech, incitement, or material targeting a caste, community, gender, or region;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our publishing systems or reader data; or
- use the site in a manner that violates applicable Indian law.
Disclaimer
We research and edit our essays carefully, following the standards in our Fact-Check Policy, but we offer them for education and reflection, not as a substitute for professional religious, medical, legal, or financial advice. Where a school of philosophy, a ritual practice, or a historical account is disputed within the tradition, our presentation of it is our best understanding at the time of writing, not a final adjudication of the question. The site is provided “as is,” without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, though we work to make it both.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dashapramati Media and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Prajna Insights, including reliance on content that is later corrected under our Corrections Policy. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or wilful misconduct.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Prajna Insights is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
